a painting on a linen flour bag

Marinus Bies (1894-1975) painted one of his 'Brabantse Landschappen' on a canvas that was a flour bag in linen with blue and red stripes and on which was printed :

The painting was a present from my father to my mother when they engaged.
I cannot believe that I only now looked at the back of it, as if another painter 'knocked at my door' after El Greco and Diego Velazquez.
